Why 2.0.1 when it used to be called 2.1? When this build started it was based off of a leaked rom that was thought to be 2.1… before flan/nexus one were official. Now that it’s real and newer roms have come out we know that it is 2.0.1, not 2.1. So it’s the same build that you guys have had from us, just with the proper name now.

I’ve requested the other thread be closed. This is the final version of Gumbo ROM, and my final 1.5 ROM. All future development from me will be with the kernel, or 1.6 or higher. I’ve listened to the requests, and some changes have been made. Please read each section carefully and decide how you would like to install.

The Astonishing Tribe aka TAT is working on Recognizr an application for Android that would allow a user to snap a quick picture of someone and instantly be linked to their social networking accounts. Now I’m all for social networking, in fact I’ve met some very good friends via different social networks
Facebook and Twitter for example. But for a complete stranger to be able to snap a picture of me on the street and find out everything about me or view my pictures and videos on YouTube, Flickr or Picasa is a little disturbing. Where does networking end and stalking begin?

I have tried a couple of android roms ex: fresh,Modaco so i decided to tried the gumbo rom which is based off Modaco’s 1.1.I’m very please of the performance and optimization of this rom.Fresh rom is also create but i found that it’s more of a designer rom then anything else and its not optimized to my standard.I’m sure the rom will be improved in time.But i feel comfortable using the Gumbo rom for now.Both rom battery consumption appears to be the same.So it boil down for you guys to test it and give a review.

I was kinda hesitated to root my htc hero device because the lacking on the rom dev.Unlike the winmo device you have many authors.So i finally rooted it and installed this rom,I’m very pleased with it and it fast and no lagging that i noticed.If anyone with a cdma htc hero device, this is the rom to look at.
